DO THE RIGHT THING

FOREWORD

This short work was conceived at a time when my daughter and her friend urgently needed direction and insight to pull them through a difficult phase in their lives. I believe that being misled and beaten out of shape are inevitable consequences of our teenage years.

We tend to copy the rest and follow the leader if it feels right, all the while ignorant of the fact that the whole world is under the power and influence of the evil one (consider the evidence in chapter 4). Our feelings lie to us continually. The results can be unpleasant to review. Worse still, the trash we gathered into our hearts and minds can emerge years later causing us to fail and fall, or maybe just falter along the way.

So today I consider myself a failure in every way. Yet through it all I have learned that I must press on to obey fully the One who continually deals with all my sins and weaknesses – He alone knows me perfectly. God has to remind me that I am – really! – more than a conqueror.

This concise book is crammed with information and facts useful to teenager and adult alike. It is built on experience and is therefore best shared between a mature Christian and a teenager.

Put God first. Never grow weary in your mind. Never give up trying to obey Christ. Give Him your youthful best. I hope you find Do the Right Thing useful.
